I was reading your advice on KSL to the depressing man with thoughts of suicide. I thought it was good, but could I share one piece of advice that was overlooked that could be helpful to your readers/clients? Please teach people that they are agents, not objects. An agent has the power to change. As children of God, we can all access Divine power beyond our own. Please teach people that they must do what they can in life; it’s not just about learning new thought processes to deal with one’s overwhelmingly difficult circumstances. Each of us, no matter our trial, must strive each day to do what they can to improve the life of someone else. The life of Christ taught us to DO (“If any man will do His will, then he shall know of the doctrine….”), to turn outward, not inward and to not focus on the things we cannot do, but rather, to do what we can. Daily doing constructive things will lead to true purpose, provide a fertile ground for greater hope and give assurance to those who struggle that their life truly is worthwhile..
